![]() ![]() Right now, I'm just trying to get it to work!) Why in the name of god would it work perfectly in XP, but not in Vista or 7? I do realize they have problems running some older things, but just take a look at this code. What I did was attempt to register those files immediately at runtime. Let's revive this thread because, well, I had a great idea. Help? Or help me figure out the search parameters to look for it? What extra files do I need to include in the package to make it run on another computer? I thought at first it was the Microsoft Jet files, but when I attempted to run that it said that a previous service pack had already updated these files. However, even with all the needed files for anything to do with using msadodc.ocx, the program will run, but show nothing from the database. Note, I've always had problems with the VB Package & Deployment Wizard, so I figured out long ago that if I just include all the needed files in the folder with the program, then there's no installation needed and people can run the compiled program just fine. But as soon as Joe Blow on another computer who's testing it out for me runs it, the problem loads, acts like there are no database problems, but then shows absolutely no information from the database. Specifically, on my computer when I look at either the project in progress, or the compiled version of the program, it loads, shows data perfectly, everything. The program loads, and the database is read, but it shows absolutely no information and you can't write to the database at all. When I write a program in Visual Basic 6.0 that just so happens to call a Microsoft Access database file (with msadodc.ocx), it won't read it on another computer that doesn't have VB6 installed. I think my biggest problem is that I'm not exactly sure how to even WORD a search for this particular problem, so I've never had any luck on Google or in your search parameters. (You can think of a DLL program as a "subprogram" that can be used by any number of application programs, each of which is a "container" for the DLL or OCX/ActiveX control "object.") Visual Basic and C++ are commonly used to write OCX or ActiveX controls.Hi guys, thanks for reading my question. ![]() Microsoft now calls an OCX an ActiveX control, the component object under Microsoft's set of ActiveX technologies, of which the fundamental concept is the Component Object Model (COM) and, in a network, the Distributed Component Object Model ( DCOM).Īn OCX or ActiveX control is actually implemented as a dynamic link library DLL module. Windows application development programs such as PowerBuilder and Microsoft Access take advantage of OCXs. This component-based approach to application development reduces development time and improves the program capability and quality. These programs are known as components and the application in which they are run is known as a Container. OLE and the Component Object Model (COM), a more general concept that preceded OLE, support the development of "plug-and-play" programs that can be written in any language and used dynamically by any application in the system. The Windows desktop is an example of a compound document and Microsoft used OLE to build it. ![]() ![]() Object Linking and Embedding was designed to support compound documents (which contain multiple information types, such as text, graphic images, sound, motion video). If you have a Windows system, you'll find a number of files in your Windows directory with the OCX file name suffix. OCXs provide such functions as handling scroll bar movement and window resizing. An OCX is an Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) custom control, a special-purpose program that can be created for use by applications running on Microsoft's Windows systems. ![]() ![]() ![]() When they arrive at their new house, dozens of women line up in their front yard, wasting no time in wooing Ben. Ben is initially sad to be leaving Cold River until Junior reminds him that everyone there has been horrible to him his whole life including his father, former wife and neighbors Ben tells Junior he is right, they then leave while knocking over the “Now Leaving Cold River” sign, then a montage is shown of them traveling cross-country. Mortville is shown to be a quiet, peaceful community, as well as apparently a way for Ben and Junior to start their lives all over again. However, it has achieved a slightly higher score on Rotten Tomatoes, with the positive reviews praising it as better than the original Problem Child.īen Healy (John Ritter) and his son Junior Healy (Michael Oliver) move from Cold River, Illinois to Mortville, Oregon. This second installment in the Problem Child franchise did not fare as well as its predecessor, Problem Child, only performing about half as well at the U.S. This film was produced by producer Robert Simonds, who also produced the first film in the Problem Child series, Problem Child. In this film, Amy Yasbeck portrays Annie Young, unlike the first film in which she originally portrayed as Flo Healy, wife of Ben Healy (John Ritter). a continuation of the exploits of an adopted orphan boy who deliberately wreaks comedic havoc everywhere he goes.
